RESIDENTIAL GARBAGE/RECYCLING PICKUP
Collection is every Thursday all year round. Garbage collection alternates with recycling collection from one week to the next. The roll-out carts are to be placed at least 1′ away from the curb and 3′ from any parked vehicles. All garbage must be bagged and placed inside the garbage cart with the lid fully closed. Recycling material is to be loosely placed in the recycling cart (no need to package). Any cart not adhering to these rules risks not being picked up.
Please remove garbage/recycling carts off the street as soon as possible after collection. Also, please do not place the carts on the street any sooner than the evening before pick-up.
Do you want to know what you can recycle and where you can recycle it?
Collection is every other Tuesday, May through October.
Compost will be picked up in the back alley and should be in a 17-gallon capacity plastic or metal can. If weather conditions are not favorable, pickup will occur later in the week.

TRANSFER STATION ACCEPTANCE OF RUBBLE
Due to increasing environmental regulations, the practice of burying rubble at the Transfer Station has been immediately discontinued. What this now means is rubble like gyproc and glass will now have to go into the Loraas container and there will be a charge of $80/half ton truck box or prorated accordingly. Rubble like asphalt and cement will still be accepted at no charge provided they are separated from each other as well as all other material. Asphalt and cement will each have their own separate stockpile and the material will eventually be crushed and reused as road material. Since no more material will be buried on site, the province has designated this facility as a “transfer station” only.
