WHEATLAND REGIONAL LIBRARY
STILL OPEN ONLINE

While our branches are temporarily closed, Wheatland Regional Library is still connecting our communities with books, audiobooks, magazines, and music. Through our website, readers can use Library2Go and Hoopla to access thousands of ebooks and audiobooks. Magazine readers can enjoy the latest issues on the Flipster app. For those looking for newspapers, we offer more than 6000 publications through PressReader including the StarPhoenix and Leader Post. We are also excited to announce that Ancestry is offering free at home access with your library card until April 30th. If you don’t have a library card, sign up on our website and staff can assist you.

2020 GARAGE SALE DAY
In a typical year, Garage Sale Day would be held on Saturday, May 9th. However, with the current social distancing protocols in place, this date is no longer viable. We will see what the future holds and may try to reschedule Garage Sale Day for a later date.

Interest charges on overdue water and sewer accounts has been temporarily suspended until further notice.

COUNCIL HIGHLIGHTS
-The Town of Delisle held a regular meeting on March 10th and a special meeting on March 16th.
-A $1,000 donation will be made to the Stars Ambulance service.
-Cary Brunett has been appointed Deputy Mayor for the months of May & June. Ryan King has been appointed Deputy Mayor in the event that both the Mayor & Deputy Mayor are not available.
-If deemed necessary, council and committee meetings will be held electronically.
-The operation of the water & sewer utility was deemed an essential service and the Town Foreman will be tasked with creating a plan to ensure its operation during a crisis.
-The skating rink, curling rink and town hall are closed to the general public until further notice.
-The Town will immediately set up Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts to provide notices to the public.

PLAYGROUNDS
In conjunction with Prairie Spirit School Division, all playgrounds in Delisle will be closed to the general public until further notice.

SREDA LAUNCHES SMALL BUSINESS EMERGENCY CONTINUITY GRANT PROGRAM
Today, we launched Phase 1 of the SREDA Small Business Emergency Continuity Grant Program designed to support the local economy during these challenging times. The program will provide grants of up to $5,000 to small businesses in the Saskatoon Region that are experiencing significant financial challenges because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

To be eligible for a grant, businesses must have experienced a substantial downturn in business activity related to the outbreak of COVID-19, resulting in significant financial challenges. They must also:
-Operate in the Saskatoon Region
-Be a for-profit commercial business
-Have 10 or fewer employees, including owner(s)
-And have been in business for more than 6 months but less than 5 years.

Applications are now open.
Application deadline: April 6 at 12:00 p.m.

2020 Business Licenses Are due March 1st, 2020. Anyone operating a business from other than a commercial property within town limits is required to obtain a business license. Contact the Town Office for more details.
