COUNCIL HIGHLIGHTS

-Town Council held a regular meeting on August 11th and a special meeting on August 27th.

-the Town ordered an aerial photography package from AirScapes International Inc.

-the 2020 Waterworks Rate Policy & Capital Investment Strategy was adopted.

-Northern Blacktop was awarded the tender for street reconstruction of the 200 Block of 6th Avenue East at a cost of $228,525 plus taxes.  Work is expected to begin mid-September.

-the ice plant at the arena will be turned on Sept. 4th, weather permitting.

-the arena will open for the 2020-21 season under strict Covid-19 guidelines.  More information will be forthcoming in the next few weeks.

-watch for posters/notices later in the month asking for nominations for Town Council. A general municipal election will be held on Monday, November 9th.

Starting Sept. 2, Delisle Library will resume their regular hours of:

Monday: Noon – 4:00 P.M.

Wednesday: Noon – 4:00 P.M. & 7:00 – 9:00 P.M.

Friday: 9:30 A.M.– 4:30 P.M.

The branch will be re-opening soon WITH RESTRICTIONS. Details to be announced.

SALE BY TENDER – 219 1st Street West

1.  The Town of Delisle offers for sale the following property in “as is” condition:

2.   The interior of the building can be viewed by appointment by making arrangements with the Town Office (Phone 306-493-2242 or e-mail delisle@sasktel.net).

3.   A tender must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked “Property Tender” addressed to Town of Delisle, Box 40, Delisle, Sk.    S0L 0P0

4.   Tenders must be postmarked by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2020.

5.   Highest, or any tender, not necessarily accepted.  A reserve bid of $30,000.00 will be in effect.

6.   Any tender or bid submitted shall be subject to an additional 5% for GST.

7.   Upon notification, the successful bidder will have 14 days to provide funds to complete the purchase.  Failure to provide the required amount within the 14 days specified above will result in rejection of the bid or tender.

8.   All legal costs, title transfer fees and applicable taxes are the responsibility of the purchaser and are in addition to the bid price.

COMPOST & GARDEN WASTE

Pick-up will be Sept. 8th for COMPOST & Sept. 22nd for COMPOST & GARDEN WASTE.

Garden waste will be collected during compost pickup without any need to package the garden waste. The Town will collect garden waste provided it is in a convenient area in the back alley. This service is only for garden waste and only available on Sept. 22nd.  

Compost will be picked up in the back alley and should be in a 17-gallon capacity plastic or metal can. If weather conditions are not favorable, pick-up will occur later in the week.

DELISLE PLAYSCHOOL REGISTRATION

Delisle Playschool is doing a bottle drive Sunday, Sept 27th. We will start going around town at           9 A.M.

ANNUAL WATERWORKS REPORT

The following is information on the Town of Delisle’s waterworks, as required under The Municipalities Regulations.

2019 Waterworks Financial Overview

Total water & sewer revenue – $351,907

Total water $ sewer expenses – $340,935

Total debt payments – NIL

Comparison of revenues to expenses plus debt payments expressed as a ratio –

$351,907/$340,935 + NIL = 1.03

For 2019, water and sewer revenues covered 103% of water and sewer expenditures. This is a small decrease from last year.

The following additional information is available at the Town Office:

DELISLE & DISTRICT RECREATION

The annual community guide will be available the 2nd week in September. Look for copies to be available at the Co-op, Esso, Town Office and Recreation office.

We hope to have Yoga classes again this fall, please watch for details on Facebook.

Next Rec board meeting will be at 7 P.M. September 16th. Anyone interested is always welcome.
